FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CommSystems to provide Maintenance Contract for Scripps Institute of Oceanography HiSeasNet Satellite Communications Network.

Maintenance contract will include bi-yearly maintenance visit to all research vessels in the HiSeasNet network plus quick response repair services to any vessel location worldwide.

January 16, 2006 (San Diego) -- CommSystems announced today that they have reached an agreement with Scripps Institute of Oceanography to provide maintenance and repair services to all research vessels operating on the Scripps’s HiSeasNet satellite communications network. The agreement, with a value of $75,000 dollars , includes bi-yearly maintenance visits to all ships by CommSystems personnel as well as immediate response to any equipment failure or loss of service. This response includes travel by CommSystems personnel to any vessel’s location, either in the or International destination.

The Scripps Institute’s Satellite Network, HiSeasNet, provides communications services to research vessels in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Due to the expansion of the system last year, the network is now supporting 8 research vessels, with 2 more vessels scheduled to join the network by August 2006.

The HiSeasNet satellite network provides both voice and data services to the research vessels and allows scientists out on the ships to communicate with their counterparts back in the university labs in real time. With a research project’s data being transferred in real time, scientists can make changes to the experiments in response to the resultant data. The HiSeasNet network also provides voice and email communications from the ship to the public switched network.

CommSystems is a system integrator of satellite communication networks for internet, telephony, data, video, and audio broadcast applications.

Fixed Wireless Systems
July 23, 2006

CommSystems has recently upgraded it's website to reflect our work on fixed wireless access systems. These are typically point-to-multipoint systems for local Internet and Telephony connections.

We also have integrated mixed satellite and fixed wireless systems for a combination long distance and last mile wireless solution. More to come.
